Ladycat spikers fall to Monett, Seneca

In volleyball action last week, the Cassville Ladycats (3-13-1) dropped two Big 8 Conference matches to Monett and Seneca.

Against the Lady Cubs, Cassville fell 16-25, 11-25. Senior Lili Guk recorded three kills, nine digs and two aces in the contest. Chelsea Corn, a junior, tallied three kills.

Sophomores Jessica Mitchell and Katie Hynes contributed nine assists and five digs respectively. Destiny Massey, another sophomore, was credited with four service points and two aces.

In the Seneca game, the Ladycats came up short against the Lady Indians 19-25, 18-25.

Guk, Corn and Mitchell shared kill leader honors with three each. Mitchell also contributed 10 assists and Guk tallied five points. Hynes led in the digs category with eight.

The Cassville JV squad also suffered a loss against Seneca. The young Ladycats battled hard, losing 23-25, 21-25 in two close games.

The Ladycats host Carl Junction on Thursday night and then compete in the Neosho Tournament on Saturday. Next Tuesday, Cassville plays Mt. Vernon at home.
