The Cassville Wildcat soccer team is now 12-2 after a pair of wins over Carl Junction and College Heights.

The Wildcats defeated Carl Junction last Thursday behind goals from Brett Buchanan, Nick Schlichtman and Aaron Jamieson.

Schlichtman scored the first two goals, Jamieson the third and Buchanan added the final two. Jason Bromley had two assists on a pair of long throw-ins and Schlichtman also tallied an assist in the win.

The Wildcats have dominated Big 8 schools for several years now, and the game against the soccer Bulldogs was no exception.

College Heights is ranked in the Class 1 district's top 10, but Cassville defeated the team from Joplin for the second time this season.

A perfectly placed pass by Schlichtman, was headed in by Buchanan, for the early 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Ryan Schlichtman added the second goal, and the Cassville Wildcats now stand at the most wins at the midway point of the season in school history.

Goalkeeper Kyle Bishop is now 12 wins into his senior season, and the defensive trio of Nate Evans, Spencer Lynch and Jason Bromley did not allow a single shot on goal against College Heights.

Cassville plays at Monett on Thursday in a varsity and JV match to begin at 4:30 p.m.
