Sylvia May Plummer, 70, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at her home in Wheaton.

She was born Aug. 28, 1935, Deadwood, Alberta, Canada, to Lee and Grace (Guttau) Lay. She married Henry A. Plummer, Jr. in Anderson, on Dec. 18, 1953. He survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Stan Ray Plummer, of Monett, Kirk Lee Plummer and his wife, Jeanine, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Dennis Dean Plummer and his wife, Kris, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Dorothy Marie Gillman, of Everette, Wash., and Wanda Jean Neilson and her husband, Frank, of Huntsville, Ala.; two grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, a half-sister; and a half-brother.

She has been a cook at various restaurants over the years. She moved to this area in August 1993 coming from Trona, Calif. She had been a member of the Assembly of God Church and later attended Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Services were held today (Wednesday) at the Wheaton Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Buck officiating.


Edith D. Rial, 92, of Cassville, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, in Red Rose Inn of Cassville.

Her body was donated to the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
