Collings waives preliminary hearing (12/27/07)
Wheaton man accused of raping and murdering a 9-year-old Stella girl has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. On Dec. 21, Chris Collings, of Wheaton, waived his preliminary hearing rights. CHS Christmas royalty (12/27/07)
Freshman Rylie Wilks and sophomore Matt Angel were crowned as the 2007 Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas. Wilks is the daughter of Doug and Lori Wilks, of Golden, and Angel is the son of Dan and Allison Angel, of Cassville. The pair earned their Christmas crowns by raising the most money for Share Your Christmas. In all, the eight candidates raised just over $15,000 for SYC. The Miss Merry Christmas crown was provided by Tomblin's Jewelry and Gifts and Jewelers of America...

Ladycats win nail-biter over Billings (12/27/07)
The Cassville Ladycats finished up their pre-Christmas schedule this week with a win over Billings. Cassville showed some tough grit in the contest coming from behind to win 46-43. Early on the Ladycats looked as if they might win the game easily. Cassville led 24-15 at the half and seemed to be in control. A pair of Cassville High School seniors have been selected to participate in the fourth annual Southwest All-Stars Game, presented by SGFsoccer.com and the Springfield Soccer Club.
