WB boil order still in effect (08/23/07)
A boil order remains in effect for the City of Washburn, and City Clerk Sue Rose said she doesn't expect the order to be lifted until the end of the week. The city is still waiting to receive two back-to-back positive water sample reports before the Missouri Depart-ment of Natural Resources will lift the boil order. New CPD is taking shap (08/23/07)
Renovation work at Cassville City Hall is progressing on schedule. Crews with Lacey Brothers Construction have been hard at work despite hot temperatures, and when the project is completed, the city offices will include the Cassville Police Department. The project will renovate 4,064 square feet of the existing building and add 1,271 square feet of new floor space. Cassville City Administrator Mike Hayslip said the contractor would be pouring concrete floors this week...
Wind farm will impact Cassville airport (08/23/07)
The wind farm project in Exeter is still in the works as evidenced by a discussion held at the Cassville City Council meeting on Monday night. According to Schlichtman, the wind machines, including rotors, will tower 407 feet and will be located approximately 3.25 miles due west of the airport runway. The close proximity of the huge machines will require the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to increase the airport's minimum descent altitude for Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) approaches...
Commerce to celebrate 120th anniversary (08/23/07)
Barry County's oldest bank will celebrate its 120th anniversary this Friday. Commerce Bank will host a celebration in honor of its milestone birthday from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 24 outside the bank's Main Street location.
