Fair serves 148 local students

The Cassville Branch Library gave a free book to each child who attended the Barry County OACAC Neighborhood Center's School Readiness Fair on Aug. 4. The annual event, which provided 148 local students with school supplies for the 2011-12 school year, was held at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Center. Successful school fair

The Barry County OACAC Neighborhood Center's annual School Readiness Fair served nearly 150 area students this year. Youngsters picked up school supplies, gifts and a variety of information at the fair, which was held at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Center on Aug. 4.

Free services offered

Area Community Health Emissaries (ACHE), Inc., of Anderson, provided free dental examinations and fluoride brushing at the Barry County Neighborhood Center School Readiness Fair on Aug. 4. Children also had the opportunity to receive free hearing and vision screenings during the event.

Electric displays

Barry Electric Cooperative offered free gifts and information at the Barry County OACAC Neighborhood Center School Readiness Fair, held at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Center last Thursday. The cooperative booth also featured several educational display items, including an electronic plasma ball, which attracted many children. Pictured above, are Renae and Bradianna Dalton, who will both be fifth grade students at Southwest this year.

Face painting fun offered at fair

CoxHealth offered free face painting and blood pressure testing at the School Readiness Fair held at the Crowder College Cassville Campus on Aug. 4. The event is sponsored by the Barry County OACAC Neighborhood Center. Elizabeth Harris, pictured above, was one of 148 students who took part in this year's fair. Harris will attend preschool at Cassville this year.
