Thursday, April 17

Support Group: Anyone concerned about a friend's or loved one's drinking is invited to attend the Cassville Al-Anon Family Group, which meets at 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville.

Meeting: The Pythagoras Masonic Lodge No. 383 will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 1704 Main St. in Cassville.

Open House: The Cassville Branch Library will host an Open House at 2 p.m. on April 17, and a special showing of the movie "Philomena" will take place at 6 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13, and attendees should bring their own drinks and snacks.

Meeting: The Ozark Country Quilters will meet at 9:30 a.m. for a workshop at the Old Fields Photo Archive, Room 8, located behind Papa Vito's on Highway 248.

Friday, April 18

Support Group: Celebrate Recovery will meet at New Hope Baptist Church, located three miles west of Highway 37 on Highway W, then 3/4 miles north on Farm Road 1052, every Friday at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served, and the group is open to anyone. For more information, people may call 417-442-9357.

Sunday, April 20

Support Group: The Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group of Cassville meets at 8 p.m. at 1308 Harold St. in Cassville.

Service: New Hope Baptist Church will host a sunrise service on Easter Sunday at 8 a.m. Breakfast will follow, and a regular service will be held after breakfast, with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. The church is located on Highway W, three miles west of Highway 37 and 3/4 miles north to Farm Road 1052.

Service: The Barry County Southern Baptist Association will host an Easter Sunday worship service at the Roaring River State Park Amphitheater at 9 a.m. If weather is bad, the service will be held in the Emory Melton Conference Center. Meeting: The Barry County Council on Aging Board will meet on April 22 at the Central Crossing Senior Center in Shell Knob at 1 p.m.

Benefit: A benefit concert is scheduled for April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Community Faith Chapel Church, located at 13372 Highway 248, for the Wyatt and Mandy Clevenger family. The family's home was destroyed by fire on March 27. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will start at 7 p.m., with New Road and Final Destination performing. There is no admission charge, but donations are encouraged, and 100 percent of the money collected will go to the Clevenger family. For more information, people may call 417-737-0635.

Clean-Up: The city of Cassville and the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 2nd Annual Earth Day Clean-Up Event on April 22. Those interested in participating should meet at the Cassville City Park between 3-5:30 p.m. to be given an area to clean. Those interested should sign up before April 22 by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 417-847-2814, or Alderwoman Ann Hennigan at 417-342-6615.
