A chance to give backPosted Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 11:38 AM
Each day, when they go to work, they put their lives on the line to protect the safety of our community. They go by many names, trooper, officer, detective, deputy, but their job is very much the same. They take an oath to serve the public, offer assistance in emergencies and maintain law and order.
On March 20, the Five-O Motorcycle Club Roaring River Crew will host a poker run to raise funds for law enforcement personnel in southwest Missouri. Although the club establishes no goals for its fundraisers, community members should remember that much of the funds collected during their events will help officers who have been injured in the line of duty. Funds also benefit the families of officers who have lost their lives while serving and protecting. If you are a motorcycle rider and you would like to support this very worthy cause, plan to take part in the 130-mile poker run on March 20. If you are not a biker and you would still like to help out the Roaring River Crew, e-mail Travis Hilburn, president, at Hilbo@fiveocrew.com. |
