A task worth doing is worth doing well

Each year, the Cassville Democrat newspaper staff takes on the large task of completing a Barry County Progress Edition, which includes articles and photos of businesses, schools, cities and organizations from across the county. Although this task is at times grueling, we take pride in creating each story and advertisement for this special edition.
In addition to creating a quality product for our readers and advertisers, the Progress Edition gives us a chance to touch base with different aspects of the community and learn about the things that are important to area business owners, school administrators, city officials and community members.
This year, I learned about some of the products and services available at local pharmacies, received pet care tips from a veterinarian and found out why I see so many cars at the rental store located at Hilltop south of Cassville.
I also found out more about a southern Barry County chamber of commerce, toured a local resort with one of the nicest couples I know and was inspired by a Cassville-based paving company that has stretched its wings into a large portion of northwest Arkansas.
Throughout my Progress Edition travels I also had an opportunity to review the progress that has been made throughout the county with some of the people who I speak with regularly.
When this special edition hits the newsstands and mailboxes next week, I hope readers take the time to learn more about the people and places that strive to improve the southwest Missouri county that we all love so much.
If you have a moment, come back and leave a comment about something that you learned from this year's Progress Edition.

I love to read the progress on the businesses in the area. We need more of this telling everyone about our area. We have a great area here and everyone is like one big family.
Keep up the good work and look forward to more info on everything. I think that it would be interesting to have info on the schools areas on recycling efforts. Also on helping those in need during these hard times for us all. We need to help to take care of our own and this is the time of year that everyone needs to do what little they can to help those in need with all the lose of jobs and families who are struggling so. It is time to ask everyone to step up and help their area with the holiday seasons so those in need do not suffer more than they already are. It is not so hard on the adults but the children need the communities support.
What areas are working to help those in need.
Thanks for the report and the hard work you put into it all.
